Here in Los Angeles, it is already feeling like Summer, so for my day off, I thought I wear this jaunty little getup.  Not that I couldn't wear this outfit to work, but check out those flats - I wouldn't want to be the person who runs into me after I've been standing in those things for eight hours.

A couple of work outfits from last week:

I took a lovely hike last Tuesday with my number one friend A. and I was hoping to take a full shot of my hiking ensemble.  Alas, this is the only picture we were able to get before the battery on my camera died, but it does afford a nice look at my new sunglasses.  Over the years I have managed to curb my ravenous appetite for new shades and have got it down to a one-a-year habit.  Therefore, let me introduce you to 2013's sunglasses.

This is just a quick post to show off my newly dyed hair.  Did you even notice?  Some people do and some don't.  Black is not my natural hair colour, but for a very long time it was my normal hair colour, so I'm really not surprised that it goes unnoticed by many.  Anyway, I have some outfit pictures taken and waiting to be uploaded from my camera, so more posts to come later on this week.

More from Miss Q's collection

I love the double ties at the neck on this one, though I fear in the pictures the whole thing comes off a little frumpy.

This is another one with a matching skirt.  I'm wondering if I subconsciously chose to take this because of the popularity of mint green this season.

Look!  It's a Diane Von Furstenberg!! . . . well only sort of . . . it was made by Miss Q from a Diane Von Furstenberg Vogue pattern (which I was also given), so almost the same thing.

As promised, here is one of my new acquisitions from the Sacramento trip.  This came with a matching skirt, but right now I can't really bring myself to wear them together. Perhaps I have been influenced a bit too much by the modern style dictate of never being too "matchy matchy".  The other issue is that the skirts and dresses from this collection all fall at a very conservative slightly below the knee length (my aunt Q is a lady after all), which is not the most flattering length on me.  Hemming is the order of the day.
