The Rules:
I will wear each garment once and then clean, repair and store it until the project is finished. To curb the influx of new clothing that will distract me from the task at hand, I will abstain from buying anything new til next year.
The Exceptions:
1. Underwear, sleepwear and socks (but not tights) can all be worn more than once.
2. Bags and purses will be used until I can be bothered to transfer all my wallets and mints and scraps of paper to the next one. (I'm hoping for roughly once every two weeks, but you know how that goes . . . )
3. Certain shoes - because let's face it, I work in retail and hobbling along in vintage pumps is not going to cut it.
4. Should any of the following designers do a line for H & M or Target the no new clothing rule goes out the window: Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, John Galliano, Tom Ford or Rodarte.
wish me luck
Oh,my heavens! I can't believe you own enough clothing to not wear anything twice in a row for a year!!! I have dreams like that, where I'll walk into closets and closets full of clothes that I didn't know I had. The reality is I'm a SAHM to 4 kids whom I homeschool and my hubby is the sole breadwinner, so. . . . money is tight. But, hey I'll follow you for a while and live vicariously!
